The Syrian Foreign Minister has told the UN General Assembly that his government is fighting a war against militants linked to al-Qa’ida who eat human hearts and dismember people while they are still alive, then send their limbs to the family.

Walid al-Moallem also claimed in his speech on Monday that the US, Britain and France had blocked the naming of the real perpetrators of chemical weapons attacks.
President Barack Obama told the UN last week that the Syrian regime was behind a chemical weapons attack in August that killed hundreds.
Mr Moallem also claimed “terrorists” fighting the regime are being supplied with chemical weapons.
