Raina leaves Gzb for Noida

The festival season is seeing Ghaziabad boy Suresh Raina in crackling form, and things aren’t thanda on the personal front either for this left-hander. Raina, who will turn 27 on November 27, is shifting to a big mansion in Noida soon, from his current Ghaziabad home. However, even he can’t say exactly when, because work is on in full swing at his new home in an upscale area of Noida.
“It’s finally happening, and I am pretty excited about it,” he says. Despite being busy with Australia’s tour of India, Raina is managing things back home. We hear he’s taking updates over the phone before approving the material used for construction, including the wood. “It’s my dream house and is close to my heart,” he adds.
Though he has interior designers doing up the house, Raina is also researching things himself. “I want my place to be unique,” he says. With Diwali and his birthday approaching, Raina hopes to do a puja, griha pravesh and shuddhi, so that he can move in soon. Does buying a new place have something to do with his wedding plans? “Maybe,” is all he says with a smile, adding, “Give me a year or two at least. I just want to enjoy cricket and obviously, my new home too.”
There’s going to be a personal ‘cooking point’ also in this Noida home, considering Raina’s a non-vegetarian. Because his family is vegetarian, he has his own kitchen on the terrace of his Ghaziabad home to indulge his non-vegetarian tastes. A while ago, Raina had also admitted to using separate utensils for his non-veg preparations. A grand house warming party will take place in Noida after Raina’s shift there. It’s going to have his close friends and other cricket buddies in attendance, we hear.
The cricketer, who’s often linked to actresses (he was last said to be dating Anushka Sharma), doesn’t let controversies and rumours affect him, he says. “It’s a part and parcel of life. I don’t react to it,” he adds.
