Pakistani markings on grenades seized from terrorists in Naugam: Army

NEW DELHI: The Northern Command of the Indian Army said on Saturday that the recoveries made from the terrorists killed during Naugam Operation last Thursday confirm Pakistan's complicity in abetting terror.

Four terrorists were eliminated by the Army on the Line of Control while trying to infiltrate from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir in Naugam sector on October 6.

Pak Ordinance factory markings have been found on the hand grenades, UBGL grenades recovered from the terrorists, an Army spokesman said.

Pakistan origin markings are also seen on the medicines and eatable items recovered from the terrorists, he added

Army said highly inflammable material, including six plastic explosive slabs, six bottles of petroleum jelly, six bottles of inflammable liquid and six lighters were also seized.

"Similar type of inflammable material was used at Poonch on September 11 and in the Uri attack on September 18 . This shows the sinister design of Pakistan to aid terrorists is causing maximum destruction," he added.

The Army had foiled three infiltration bids — two in Naugam sector and one in Rampur — of North Kashmir during the intervening night of October 5 and 6.

In one of the encounters in the higher reaches of Naugam, the troops cornered a group of infiltrating militants and killed four of them.

Indian army had carried outsurgical strikes on September 29, crossing over the LoC in Kupwara sector in the Kashmir Valley and Poonch in Jammu region and smashing launch pads meant for terrorists.
