On the issue of demonstrations in Iran, the United States Security Council's emergency meeting on Russia has been sharply criticized by the United States.
Russia's ambassador to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzia has said that Iran should allow its problems to be solved and the intervention of the UN Security Council in the internal affairs of any country reduces the status of this supreme institution.
Just minutes before, the US envoy Nikki Haley praised the protesters of Iran as 'brave people'.
Iranian envoy Gholamali Khushru reacted, saying that the US is misinterpreting its power as a permanent member of the Security Council. He said that the US has lost its moral, political and legal credibility in the eyes of the world.
Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif tweeted that the United Nations has foiled efforts to hijack the Security Council of the United States.
France is not in favor of intervening in Iran case
At the meeting of the Security Council, France said that the result of any kind of interference in the case of Iran would be negative. France also said that the performance in Iran is of concern but there is no threat to international peace.
The French envoy said that the international community should insist on fully implementing the nuclear deal with Iran.
The Trump Administration has refused to ratify the nuclear deal with Iran.
